Remote Claims Specialist I

JOB PURPOSE:
The Claims Specialist I supports the administration and coordination of workers’ compensation and related healthcare claims by processing assigned activities, maintaining accurate documentation, and providing responsive customer service. This role focuses on learning claims workflows, supporting resolution efforts, and escalating complex issues while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
The pay range for this position is $21.63-$28.13 Hourly. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive, manage, and process client orders and workers’ compensation claims, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Receive, review, and process assigned client orders and workers’ compensation claims for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Perform initial claim setup, documentation, and routine follow-up activities under established procedures.
- Review provider and payor determinations and escalate discrepancies, denials, or complex issues to senior team members or supervisors.
- Coordinate collection and validation of invoices and supporting documentation prior to routing for internal billing operations.
- Communicate professionally with clients, providers, claims professionals, and internal partners to obtain information and provide status updates.
- Maintain accurate claim records, notes, and supporting documentation in designated systems.
- Follow established workflows to prioritize tasks and meet service level expectations.
- Provide courteous, solutions focused customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

- Adhere to employee or customer confidentiality and comply with Numotion’s policies and federal regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 0–2 years of experience in customer service, claims processing, healthcare administration, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate or bachelor's Degree in a healthcare or business-related discipline.
- Exposure to healthcare, workers’ compensation, or insurance environments.
